Shelbyville Hemp Projects Making Progress

Updated: Jan 17, 2019

This year, Kentucky Hempsters has two research farms in Shelbyville, Kentucky through parent company United Hemp Industries. One field will compare several different varieties of both dual/purpose and fiber varieties, while the other will specifically focus on grain production.

The photos below are from the main UHI research fields at Gajdzik Farms, where there have been seven different industrial hemp varieties planted for research purposes.

The top picture is taken from field one which was tilled, and the bottom from field two which was not tilled. Some of the varieties are looking less productive and there has been a consideration to re-plant in some areas.
