Kentucky Hemp Works becomes first hemp processing facility in Western Kentucky

Updated: Jan 17, 2019

Kentucky Hemp Works has opened in Christian County, becoming the first certified and licensed seed processing center in the Western part of the state.

Services provided by Kentucky Hemp Works include seed cleaning and conditioning, hemp seed oil production, consulting and more. In addition, the facility's certified kitchen produces products like root salve and balm, hemp seed oil and protein powder, with new prototypes in the works.

"We have spent several years preparing for this moment, and we are pleased to announce that the final approval process has been cleared by the Department of Agriculture to bring these innovative Ky Proud products direct from farm to shelf." said Katie Moyer, Kentucky Hemp Works founder. "Our value-added production will allow us to work with farmers in Western Kentucky to help them bring their crops to market, and encourage more farmers and young people to actively pursue industrial hemp production."

Moyer received official approval from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture allowing her to sell the new Kentucky Proud hemp products just this month, so she's officially open for business!
