The KDA says that year's agenda focuses on the growth of the hemp industry and the challenges in the current market. Discussions will include topics such as obtaining a license, growing the crop, and the challenges this new industry faces as it transitions from a research phase to full commercial production.
"The Kentucky Hemp Summit comes at an important time for the industry,” said Commissioner Ryan Quarles. “Though we’ve experienced rapid growth these last few years, we are still in the infancy of restoring this crop. Challenges persist, ranging from federal uncertainty regarding cannabinol to banking and lending issues. It is important that all involved are clear-eyed about the opportunities and challenges ahead and this Summit presents an opportunity for everyone interested to learn together.”
The deadline to register for the KDA Hemp Summit is Tuesday, November 26. There will be no registration accepted after that date. Cost is $50 per person and includes lunch. Register online for the Summit here and submit your payment via credit card or electronic check.
