More than 4,600 acres of industrial hemp has been approved to be grown in Kentucky in 2016. The Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) received 323 applications, approving a total of 174 participants for the 2016 Hemp Pilot Projects. Applicants were notified in early January of approval, and MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) orientations were held through the end of the month.
