1998 | UK publishes study "Industrial Hemp: Global Operations, Local Implications"

The same month the Kentucky Hemp Museum and Library published the UK study showing the potential of hemp as an agricultural crop in Kentucky, another study was released. "Industrial Hemp: Global Operations, Local Implications" was written by Valerie L. Vantreese, an economist at the University of Kentucky, who wrote the study, "Industrial Hemp: Global Markets and Prices" in 1997.
