Farm Bill negotiations stalled until after mid-term elections

After a significant amount of anticipation toward the September 30th deadline for a decision on the 2018 Farm Bill, Agriculture Committee members have announced that conference negotiations will continue following mid-term elections in November. With numerous issues left to resolve, from commodity policy to food stamps, it was certain that the House and Senate would not reach a deal in time to pass legislation before the current law expires at the end of the month. Historical events offer hemp education to Lexington students

In September, Kentucky Hempsters attended several events on behalf of the Kentucky Hemp Heritage Alliance (KHHA) and the Heritage Hemp Trail in order to provide insight and information regarding Kentucky's rich hemp history and how the crop is making a comeback today. Two of these events catered specifically toward grade school students, many of whom were hearing and learning about industrial hemp for the first time.
